We, FROM JAPAN Institute, will hold "2nd Thanet Japan Weeks" from Wed, 7th September
by bringing a team of Japanese from Japan to Thanet for Japanese cultural
sharing.
We are inviting Thanet schools to join this event as host schools to provide their pupils with hands-on experience on Japanese culture.
The curriculum includes Origami, Calligraphy, Tea Ceremony and also unique
opportunities to learn "Karuta", Japanese educational card game
of 1000 years history. If your are eco school please try learning Japanese
eco, "Nunozori", T-shirts recycled Flip-flop making.
"1st Thanet Japan Weeks" was held last March when we visited
Monkton, St Anthony, St Nicolas and St Laurence Junior school. They enjoyed
our visit so much. Upon your request we can provide a reference. ....More
Many of visitors are female university students staying with host families
in Ramsgate as student of Churchill House English school. This programme
has been in a partnership with Thanet Fairtrade Initiative and Japanese
activities will be supervised by Mineo Kageya as team leader with 15 years
experience in cultural exchange programme. ... More
We feel very thankful for tremendous help from UK and all over the world after the Great East Japan Earthquake on 11th March when we were in Thanet on 1st Thanet Japan week. Through "2nd Thanet Japan Weeks" we are willing to give something back to UK in return for your such heartful support.
