Japanese Visitors

Primary and secondary schools are to invited to join "Japan Culture Weeks" as Host for Japanese cultural sessions in the classrooms.

"Japan Culture Weeks" is a 2 weeks, Japanese cultural sharing programme organized by FROM JAPAN Institute in a partnership with local partner and has been offered since 2010 in Garsatng, Lancs
and Thanet, Kent in UK.

During the two weeks a team of screened, trained Japanese visitors from Japan will visit host schools to introduce various Japanese culture in the classrooms. Their visit is accompanied by Mineo Kageya, Director, FROM JAPAN Institute for the supervision..

The visits can be one to three days depending on the needs of each school.

The curriculum will typically include origami, calligraphy and simple Japanese. We are now promoting "Karuta" project introducing Japanese traditional card game as educational, community tool. If you are an eco-school please try "Nunozori", T-shirt recycled flip-flop making session. ...more
