Details

On Children's Day, 5th May Japanese families with boys display the
traditional Japanese military(samurai) helmet, Kabuto which is a symbol of
a strong and healthy boy. The kids can make one with origami paper for
their action heroes, or with newspaper or wrapping paper to wear themselves.

1 hour session for over 8 years old (Year 3)

Steps:

(1) Introduction - Greeting and Showing photos of Samurai Helmet
(2) Making Samurai Helmet with origami paper
(3) Sticking the origami works on work sheet with colouring for completion
(4) Making wearable Samurai Helmet with large papers

Necessary items /arrangement
- Colouring Marker pens, Glue
- Copied Worksheets for each pupil
- Quality newspapers which is larger than tabloid papers. Or large coloured paper at least 20 inches to make a "wearable" helmet.

Acknowledgement/Award:
Completed worksheets will be sealed with a sticker
